E-Cig? Or Weapon?

Thanks to occasional contributor Bear Tripper for pointing out this rather bizarrely-termed e-cig policy from a US theme park's website which betrays a high level of ignorance about them.
Electronic Cigarettes?  No electronic cigarettes, period.  There is no way whatsoever for the Park to determine actually what is in such devices, nor whether such a device is actually for “smoking” and not a weapon or some other sort of device.  Minimally, electronic cigarettes are annoying and/or a concern to the majority of our customers who do not wish to be subjected to whatever substance people may be “smoking.”
A weapon? And I'm also curious as to what "some other sort of device" could mean. Considering that this was buried in a huge list of equally authoritarian rules which appear to have been written by curmudgeonly Aunt Griselda on a day when her arthritis has been giving her gyp, perhaps it's a way of ensuring no-one sneaks a piccolo or nose-trimmer past the watch towers under false pretences.

Have some sympathy for Bear Tripper, won't you? They have to visit this charmless 'fun' centre soon.

Would it not be simpler for them to have just one rule?

"YOU WILL NOT HAVE FUN. Any person found enjoying themselves will be ejected from the park"

Sounds like a place I wouldn't consider visiting. It's not just ecigs, they also have comedy photography rules.

You can't photograph other guests if they don't like it, but the park can photograph and film anyone they like and even use the film for advertising if they choose.

Charming.

Hey, my brother's e-cig looks a lot like Dr. Who's sonic screwdriver, and one of those could cause a rift in the space-time continuum. Can't be too careful...

The rules at the camps in Poland i n the 1940s were less onerous!

Perhaps the staff uniforms are similar too. ;)

Well, it's deep in the Yankee Puritan heartland, so it's not surprising that it's a kind of Massachusetts Bay Colony as a theme park.

Among the many rules to ensure that nobody enjoys themselves, I particularly liked the ban on handstands and doing the splits- so no little girls who go to ballet and want to show off a bit allowed then- and also, not surprisingly the creeping global prohibition on swimming trunks.

...aaaaand the lighters all went out in Masachooosettttts....

JUDGMENT Verdict: smoking is anti-social in their own home
German Economic News
A smoker has to vacate his apartment because he harassed his neighbors with the smell, the Dusseldorf Regional Court decided. By the end of the pensioner has to take off. The ruling could have a signaling effect.
